Semiconductor

A semiconductor is a material that has electrical conductivity between that of a conductor and an insulator. It can conduct electricity under certain conditions, such as when energy is applied, making it essential for electronic devices. Silicon is the most commonly used semiconductor. Semiconductors are the foundation of modern electronics, including transistors, diodes, and integrated circuits, enabling devices like smartphones, computers, and solar panels to function. Their unique properties make them critical in controlling electrical flow and signal processing.
